New thematic ETF from HANetf on Xetra: access to the development and mining of copper deposits

Since Thursday, a new exchange-traded fund issued by HANetf has been tradable on Xetra and via the trading venue Börse Frankfurt.

The Sprott Copper Miners ESG Screened UCITS ETF gives investors access to currently 27 companies that are active in copper mining worldwide and have been evaluated in terms of environmental and social characteristics.

The selected companies are classified by Sprott as copper producers, developers or explorers with an intensity score of at least 25 per cent. Copper is needed for the transition to a less carbon-intensive economy and is therefore crucial for the energy transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy sources and technologies.

Companies that violate the principles of the UN Global Compact or are involved in deals in weapons, oil and gas, oil sands, thermal coal and pesticides will be excluded.
