First fixed income ETF from Global X on Xetra: access to short-term US government bonds
Since Friday, a new exchange-traded fund from Global X has been tradable on Xetra and via the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The Global X 1-3 Month T-Bill UCITS ETF allows investors to invest in a portfolio of U.S. dollar-denominated government bonds issued by the U.S. Treasury Department. The fund contains zero coupon bonds with an investment grade rating and a remaining maturity of at least one month and a maximum of three months. In addition, only bonds with an amount outstanding of at least $250 million will be considered.
In the case of zero-coupon bonds, there is no annual interest payment; instead, the full nominal value of the bond is repaid at the end of the maturity. The yield results from the difference between the purchase price and the nominal value.
