Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) have recently gained immense importance. Their scope of application is very broad. It ranges from the creation of digital originals in the blockchain (e.g. works of art or digital trading cards) to the tokenisation of physical objects such as antiques, vintage cars etc. The rapid development of NFT raises numerous legal issues from the areas of financial market regulation, intellectual property (IP), IT and data protection law, among others. The speakers will give an overview of the essential legal requirements.

In our webinar on 10 February we will be welcoming the following speakers to take a deeper dive into this topic:

Moritz Husch

Lars Lensdorf

Maro Brand

Dr Lars Lensdorf (Partner, Covington & Burling in Frankfurt) focuses on IT law, digitalisation / Industry 4.0, banking supervisory law issues with IT relevance as well as outsourcing and data protection. A particular focus of his practice is on interface advice to other areas of law with a relevant IT connection, such as regulatory requirements for banking and financial services.

Dr Marco Brand (Associate, Covington & Burling in Frankfurt) has many years of experience in financial regulatory law with a focus on the regulation of nationally and internationally active payment service providers, asset managers, banks and financial service providers. He also has extensive experience in advising fintech companies, including crypto service providers.

Dr Moritz Hüsch (Partner, Covington & Burling in Frankfurt) is Co-Chair of Covington's Technology Industry Group and Covington's Internet of Things (IoT) Group. His practice focuses on complex technology-based licensing and collaborations, outsourcings, commercial agreements, e-commerce, m-commerce, data privacy and cybersecurity, and contracts related to IoT and Big Data.

The webinar is aimed at everyone that is interested in this topic and especially addressing corporate officers dealing with these issues, in particular GCs, COOs, CCOs, legal and financial regulatory staff and investor relations officers.
